Hey All
Had another great day today. I managed to get 4 Mums, one Dad and 12 kids together to hike up to the Wildseeloderhaus which is above Fieberbrunn. I called to check if it was ok for kids from 4 years of age and they said "yeah, it's just a nice walk of about an hour". Got out of the Gondola and the hour was right but it was down into a valley and then up the steep other side to the hut. The kids all looked at it and kinda groaned but then set off pretty well.
It took us just over an hour with a break in the middle. The fact that there were so many kids really helped as they didn't really notice the walk as they were hunting blueberries, talking and playing all the way up. Even the youngest raced up there.
On arriving at the top we were surrounded by fog and it was a bit fresh to say the least. The kiwi kid and the swedish kids (used to other temperatures) immediately stripped off and went in the lake for a dip. Must have been about 13 degrees or even less. We were up at 1800m - brrrr !
We had a great lunch in the hut and while the adults were gossipping and having a coffee the kids ran around the whole lake - they still had some energy - and then we headed back down again. Stopping along the way of course to eat blueberries - Charly had purple lips and tongue - great laugh !
All had a great day and here are some photos:
The hut is in the big dip at the top of the photo - quite a way up huh !

Hexenwasser Day Trip
Jahrmarkt
Hello All
Just some photos of Jahrmarkt this year. This is the traditional festival held each year in Kitzbühel. This year there were just over 7,600 paying guests which attended. When you think that the population of Kitzbühel is 8,000 - that's quite a few people. Naturally a lot of guests turn up for this event as well.
We had a great afternoon with the kids (Eric, Tini & Amelie were there too !) and then Mike went back into town for a lovely long session and Gregor's birthday afterwards. Naturally he wasn't that lively the next day but we all had a great time.
The weather was fantastic for a change. Charly had a go at the following:
Shooting - actually got the target and won a Unicorn soft toy - like we don't have enough already !
Slingshot - hit the target and Mum had to drink the schnapps - bummer !
Cherry Spitting - hit the target
Dunkem - missed so the man didn't get wet
Tennis - how hard you can hit the ball
Handgliding
Bought - a balloon, a Jahrmarkt heart made of gingerbread, sticky candy cane and all sorts of other things !
Take care xxxooo

Mushroom & Blueberry Hunting
Hey People
Charly and I went mushroom hunting last week with Hermann and Rudi and it was a great morning. We left at 8am and headed up the Saukaisergraben to Hermann's hut which is fantastic. It was a 17km drive up the valley and well worth the trip. We managed it all the way in the van as its 4WD. We had a look around the great hut and then headed off with our buckets for blueberries and our cloth bag for the mushrooms. We spent a good hour and a half hunting around the bottom of the trees for mushrooms and got a good kilo or so. Then we headed out into the fields and picked some blueberries for our lunch !
Charly was really good and even though it was really steep she found it a great adventure rummaging through the trees and sliding around on the steep slopes. We didn't get many blueberries as picking them in the hot sunlight was a bit too much. Enough for blueberry pancakes though for 3 !
On the way back home we had to wait about 20 mins for the horses on the road to clear. Not a big fan of getting out when those big things are around so we sat in the car and tried to shoo them away. Took longer than we thought but it was a great laugh. We were surrounded on all sides by horses and they were licking the windows and trying to stick their heads through to say hello. It was a stinking hot day so you can just imagine windows closed and waiting ... Anyway they finally decided to move off enough for me to run out and open the gate and drive through before they followed us. Charly was laughing her head off at me cause I am a little scared of them ! Very funny apparently ...
Some pikkies - the horse photos were taken by Charly on my phone - that's why they are not too good !
Heidi & Eddie - do you recognise the great clothes ??
