Photographic Success !

Hey Hey

Just have to brag a bit.

I entered a couple of photo competitions lately and in the first one I won 2nd prize and a €200 travel Voucher and will have the following photo published in the Eurotours Calendar for 2012. It was taken on our roadtrip to Barcelona in Annecy in Switzerland. Annecy is known as the Venice of the Alps and I liked the way the canal was flowing past this old house front with the pretty colourful flowers.


The other one was actually just a snapshot while skiing and it didn't make it in the top 3 but was chosen to be published in winter edition of a very posh glossy magazine here in Kitzbühel.


Cool huh !

Hintersteinersee Hike - 31 October 2011

Hey People

Also did another hike, this time with Mike as well. We went up the back of the Hintersteinersee to the Steiner Alm at 1257m. This is on the Wilder Kaiser and it was a fantastic day and a great hike. Once again steep going for a good hour or so and then a nice picnic with a fantastic view.

We then hiked to another place called the Waller Alm which took almost 2 hours but along the side of the mountain to 1157m.

Schöntalalm Hike - 30 October 2011

Here are a few photos from a hike I did with my girlfriend Gitti and her 3 kids and some other friends of theirs. We had a lovely afternoon and hiked up to 1601m. Pretty hard and long going but the kids always amaze you and run around as if its nothing.

We had a nice picnic and a play around up the top and then headed back down again. Beautiful autumn colours and great fun.

Tirolean Team Championships

Hey People

Just some photos of Mike at the Tirolean Team Championships which they won !!! He was also picked (as a result of his good game) for the Ryder Cup tournament between South Tirol and North Tirol which is on 15/16 October !

Triathlon End of Season Festival

On the 2nd of October we had the End of Season Triathlon Festival which was really great.

Charly came in 3rd overall for the whole season and she also won a special prize for competing in 4 or more Triathlons. She won a lovely engraved glass trophy thing which she likes so that is good.

They had a quiz for the kids too which Charly, Johnny (half Australian/Austrian) and Sebastian came 2nd - they won Triathlon bike stands for the whole Triathlon Club which was great.

They had to march in with their team signs and flags and Charly and Addis were at the front. At the end of the do they had an interview for the local TV station with Charly, Addis, Lara and Alex so I am hoping to get a copy from them of it.

Triathlon Club Champs

Hey People

We had the Triathlon Club Champs the other weekend too ! Parents could take part if they wanted to and silly me decided to do it. Mike was away playing golf so it was just the girls all weekend !

First of all we went to the Aquarena and our teams were picked out of a hat and I had one girl who was 8 - Addis and another Antonia who was about 12 I think. We had to swim 300m between the 3 of us and so we all did 100m - nearly killed me ! I can swim freestyle but in a race it was a whole different ball game. Ended up in Physio on the Monday afterwards to get my back sorted out - ha ha ha !

Anyway our poor little team got last - oh well. Addis was such a sweety - "it's OK" she said. Antonia does not compete in the Triathlons and was just there for the day. We all had a laugh though. Charly's team were 10th after the swimming from 16 teams. Then we headed out to the sport field and had the running part of it - oh well ...

We had to run around the basketball hoops, then throw 3 balls into a bucket - any balls that missed resulted in a penalty round - guess who had to run round an extra 3 times ! Then 400m as fast as you could around the race track. We managed to overtake one team to come in 15th overall. Charly's team was 11th overall. A great day with cake and drinks and sausages for the kids afterwards. Beautiful weather as well.

Horn Park Climbing Day

Hellooooo

On Sunday (2 Oct) we went to the Horn Park Climbing area and had a great time. We spent the whole day climbing around in the trees like little monkeys - we will be making a film so wait for that !

Charly was really good and had it sussed no problems. She had to safety herself the whole time and we just checked it for her.

Some of the courses were for kids from 1.40m and she still managed it on her tippietoes !










This was the course that Mike and I did - unfortunately Mike killed his arms on the bucket part and I cheated so was able to complete the whole course and do the flying fox over the lake - no photos though as I had the camera in my pocket - bummer !!
