Easter Chiemsee Visit

Dear All

We had a lovely couple of nights in Chiemsee in Bavaria. Fantastic accommodation which delivered breakfast in paper bags to the door. Lovely restaurants and a great visit to the islands in the middle of the Chiemsee. We had a very scary ride in an ancient gondola though - built in 1955 and looked like the old Citroen Ente 2CV cars. Spring Afternoon Fun !

Hey People

Almost forgot these - Charly was invited to a friend's birthday party the other week and the weather was fantastic ! We walked up to a place just under the Horn gondola and made ourselves a BBQ fire area and had a great little grilled lunch. The kids played Indians and we also built a teepee. The kids helped at the beginning dragging huge bits of wood around but in the end it was us Mums did the most - he he ! Lots of fun !


Steckerl brot - bread dough rolled around a stick and then cooked over the hot coals - great with melted butter !

Munich & Hahnenkamm Visits

Helloooo !

Spent one weekend on the Hahnenkamm and one in Munich lately and here are some pikkies !

Munich Weekend

We went to a disco bowling alley with Tini & Eric and some friends and had a great night - 52 lanes and full of people. Ordered drinks and they were the half a litre size as is usual in Bavaria - half a litre of white wine and soda - good one ! The next day we went to the Zoo but it poured with rain so we just checked out a few inside areas. My favourite is always the gorillas and chimps ! Such a laugh to watch although Charly was not that impressed when a chimp pooped and then ate it ! Ewwww !

Hahnenkamm Weekend

Spent the weekend with friends on the mountain and the weather was gorgeous. We all did what we wanted to do. I went skiing, Charly played with the kids and Mike drank beer and relaxed in the sun with the blokes - perfect ! We had a Gala Dinner for the end of the season on the Saturday night and the food was fantastic !

Easter Egg Painting afternoon !

Hey Guys

The other day Charly and her friend Madlen had an Easter Egg painting session and it was a lot of fun. Nice and relaxing with a lot of huffing and puffing to get the eggs blown out. The girls made a lovely job of the eggs and now we have some nice decorations for Easter !








After drying in the sun the girls got to pick out which ribbons they wanted for their eggs.

Fasching / Carneval 2011

Dear All

Just a couple of photos from the Carneval this year. Charly's class had the theme Farmyard but she "did not want to dress up as a b... animal" and yes she did say that !

She went as a Farmer's wife and looked really good.

I was with the protest group against the construction of an office building between the Kindergarten and the Primary School.

A great afternoon with lots of kids and "krapfen" - bread things filled with jam and topped with icing sugar !
