Seisbergklamm Daytrip

Hey People

A very busy weekend but lots of fun had.

Charly stayed at Opa's house on Friday night and had a ball as usual. Amelie came over to give Ingeborg a break on Saturday and the girls played all afternoon together. Sunday morning we went Ice Skating and then in the afternoon we went to this Klamm (Gorge) about a half an hour's drive from Kitzbühel. Fantastic place with the most beautiful turquoise water and some great little wooden walking areas through the gorge. Charly loved it and we saw lots of trout in the river and really enjoyed the scenery. We met up with my girlfriend, her husband and their boys (and some extras) and had a stop at a restaurant with a great playground as well. We didn't get back untill 7pm that night so it was a long day. The weather was fantastic and we are really making the most of the beautiful autumn we are having at the moment.

Here are some photos:

Just a couple of other piks as well of one of the dresses we got from Heidi and Eddie - a real poser this one huh ! Also Charly with her gerkin and joghurt beauty mask - rainy day entertainment at home !

Hangi - Aug 2009

Hey People

The Hangi was a great success again. We had to swap it to a Sunday as it rained all Saturday and the hole was one third full of water the night before - we were not even sure if it would disappear before we had to light the fire. This year we managed:

53 Adults
35 Children (all ages - from 6 weeks to 16 years)

50 bottles of beer (0,5l)
4 bottles of white wine
6 bottles of red wine
6 cartons of juice (1l)
12 bottles of mineral water (1,5l)
4 kg mini sausages
120 mini bread rolls
5 kg lamb
3 kg beef
5 whole chickens (1 x in the Hangi and 4 x on the spit)
15 potatoes
16 kumura - thanks M-Preis supermarket (the only stockist here in Tirol)
7 huge salads - thanks Ada, Ulli K., Liz, Andrea, Dani, Nickel and Ulli G.
5 different sauces - thanks Harry, Dani, Nickel and Petra
500 g ketchup
2 pavlovas - thanks Tania (Kiwi) and Todd (Aussie)
2 cakes - thanks Brixa and Annette
5 kg stir fry vegies
Lollipops - thanks Sandra

Less alcohol than last year due to it being Sunday and people have to work on Monday !!! The food was fantastic again and everybody raved about the lamb and the stir fry vegies that Mike made of course. All the food was gone which menas we worked it our perfectly this year. 4 and a half hours was just right as everything was cooked to a T !!

Here are a few photos for you all. I did my usual and forgot to take photos as it was all happening i.e. dinner and the kids playing when it was light. Even though this year was much cruisier due to a lovey bathtub beer cooler I still forgot cause I was gossipping to everyone !!!

Gregor brought a fantastic portable fireplace over and it extended the evening by quite a bit as it was quite chilly. The kids didn't seem to notice things at all as they were running all over the garden.

Take care - Lara, Mike & Charly xxxooo

Ötztal Long Weekend

Hello All

Spent the weekend from 20-23 August in Ötztal which is an hour and a half from Kitzbühel so not long to drive which was nice. Our air conditioning packed a sad so we sat in a traffic jam near Innsbruck in 39 degrees ! We really felt sorry for the boys doing the roadworks.

This is a thermal resort with a 4 Star Hotel which was lovely. The food was sooo dangerous as there was so much choice and breakfast and dinner was included in the price. Also a voucher for a beauty treatment which I used for a facial. My first ever !!! Thought it was about time seeing as how I have hit the big 40 huh !

We had a great weekend and very relaxing. There were three outside pools as well as a waterway. The pools were spa, salt and sulphur (stinky - as Charly said). We were even out there in the rain as it was all warm and at night too which Charly thought was great.

We visited the Ötzi village (set up like the stone age people lived), the biggest waterfall in Tirol, went up the Timmelsjoch pass and drove to a Glacier for a nosey. The weather was not that great really but it didn't matter at all.

On the way back we stopped in at the Alpine Zoo in Innsbruck which was a laugh as the bear at the other bear's pooh again ! This happened on our last visit as well which Charly thought was really funny !!!
