School Swim Day Prizegiving

Hey People


Another day, another medal - seems to be the way of things at the moment !!!


Today the school had the prizegiving for the Swim Day.  There was a breaststroke, freestyle and relay competition.  Charly did the freestyle and the relay with her class.


Out of all the second year classes their class won the relay in 11mins.  The other nearest team took 17mins - great huh !  They were 2 lengths behind and Charly, Gregor and another girl helped them to close up on the 2 lengths and then Charly was the last swimmer and beat the other team by a half a length.  She also won the freestyle competition which was 6 boys and she was the only girl as all the rest swam breaststroke (Charly didn't bother with the breaststroke race).  She won the girls section of course being the only one but had the best time even against the boys.  23secs for 25 metres !!

The British Olympic Triathlon team were training next to the kids ...  Alistair Brownlee with the 3 on his arm is the one who won in Kitz at the weekend.

Mid Summer Bonfire - 23 Jun 12

Hey People

After the Triathlon we went up the mountain and had our Mid Summer Bonfire with friends.  A great night with BBQ and a massive fire.

It was a seriously long day as we got up at 6.00am and went to bed at 12.15am - needless to say we slept long on Sunday and did absolutely nothing !  Didn't even cook .. treated ourselves to a restaurant lunch.

Mike's team won Bronze at the Mid Amateur Golf Championships - good huh !

Kitzbühel Triathlon - 23 Jun 2012

Hellooooo Again

Yet another Triathlon weekend and this time all our kids were really nervous.  Probably with it being a home race and who knows.

Charly decided to start in the middle of the pack with the swim which proved to be a bad idea.  She got a few feet in the face and generally had a bad swim.  She was 14th out of 24 out of the water, 10th after the bike and then placed 11th at the end after the run.  She wasn't really that happy with her result which is good in a way as it means she is not just mucking around and wants to be seriously sporty.

We all had a great day and loved chatting to the NZ athletes.  Got a great photo of Bryce Leigh and us.

Innsbruck Aquathlon - 17 Jun 2012

Hey People

More news from the weekend.  Another race and another great finish.  She cleaned up everyone from her club and even her friend Madlen !  They are all older woohoo !!!

Another long hot day - left at 7am and got back at 6pm - 30 degrees and lots of suncream !

Great swim and a fantastic run to come in 6th place !!  Charly also came 4th in the Tirolean Championships at this race.
