South Tirol Weekend
Hey People
Just a few photos from our weekend in South Tirol. It was fantastic and we were lucky with the weather as well.
We had two nights and our room was a steep 10 min walk from the main house so we earned our dinners and breakfasts each time. We had to leave the car in a car park in the village and take a 4WD jeep to the pension up the mountain. In the middle of the mountains with no cars, no TV, shared bathroom, fantastic view over the valley and a freezing cold pool which Charly actually jumped into. We did a hike on the Sunday which turned out to be a monster of a walk from 1310m up to 2064m. I underestimated what the diet had taken out of me and was just a tad knackered to say the least but made it.
We got to the mountain restaurant just before it started to piss down big time and then when we were hiking back down again it started to hail which was a laugh. It took us two and a half hours to go up and almost 2 to get down again and my legs were killing me the next day. Great fun though.
We also visited Meran and Bruneck which were nearby and they are great old towns. Meran had a fantastic market day where we bought some scrummy olives, ice cream and checked out all the cured bacon and beautiful cheese for sale. In Innichen we visited the oldest church in the Alps. Beautiful.

Charly's End of Year Concert
