Wildseeloder Overnight Trip

Hey People

On Monday last week my girlfriend Gitti, her friend Nina and husband and I along with 9 kids hiked up to the Wildseeloder in Fieberbrunn which is near Kitzbühel. You take the gondola up the mountain and then from about 1000m you walk the rest of the 854m (2 hours) to the mountain hut. It was a stinking hot day (33 degrees) and a very steep hike with 10kg on my back but we made it. The kids picked blueberries all the way up and jumped in the lake when we got to the top so it was fantastic ! We spent the rest of the day swimming in the ice water - really you went a tad numb if you were in too long - like more than 3 mins ! We had dinner on the terrace of the hut and then the kids went and picked more blueberries and then crashed for the night. 14 people in one room so it was a laugh. The next day we hiked up to the Wildseeloder peak (1 hour) with the cross at the top. Another stinking hot day with over 30 degrees but a fantastic view at 2119m ! Charly's first peak - so I bought her a pin to celebrate with the name of the peak on it. We swam all afternoon till about 3 and then walked down to the gondola. Tell you what my legs were sore the next day and I am sure I sweated enough water to fill a lake. The kids all had a fantastic time and no major squabbles. So nice to make the most of the beautiful places we have here !

Blueberries on the way up !

Made it 1854m.

One the way up to the Wildseeloder peak.

See the cross on the top - thats where we were !

Looking down to the hut and lake from the trek up.

Charly and I on her first peak !

The view coming down from the peak.

Blueberries threaded onto a long piece of grass - great idea and a swedish one apparently.

The kids jumping into the lake !

Great time had by all.

Love me xxx
